This Sunday (August
8th) at the local Victor
Harbor courts, there will
be an International match
between the top women
players of the U.K. and
the State Junior Boys
team.
The women players,
consisting of Teresa
Laws, Angela Smith,
Karen Gardener and
Joyce Maycock are rank
ed from second to sixth in
the U.K.
The State Junior Boys
are Mark Dyer, Leigh
Jloeger, Mike Traeger
and current State under
19 Champion and South
Coast Open Junior Cham
pion, Glen Brumby.
The U.K. girls under
the guidance of their
manageress, Claire Chap
man, are playing matches
in Perth and Adelaide on
their way to Brisbane, to
compete in the World
Open Championships
later this month.
Matches start at 11 a.m.
and will be followed by a
Barbecue for club mem
bers, who will entertain
the visitors.
Local matches com
mence next week and all
players are requested to
report to the Centre by
7.45 p.m. on their respec
tive nights, so as to allow
time to elect team
captains and get matches
under 'way by 8 p.m.
sharp.
