DeIndyCar Series 2010 was het vijftiende kampioenschap van deIndyCar Series. Het kampioenschap ging van start op12-14 maart2010 op hetstratencircuit van São Paulo en eindigde op2 oktober op deHomestead-Miami Speedway. Ten opzichte van2009 stonden er twee nieuwe circuits op het programma, het circuit inSão Paulo en een wedstrijd opBarber Motorsports Park, dat als derde race op de kalender stond. Ten opzichte van 2009 verdwenen er twee circuits van de kalender, deMilwaukee Mile en deRichmond International Raceway. De94e Indianapolis 500 werd gereden op30 mei en werd gewonnen doorDario Franchitti. Hij won eveneens het kampioenschap waarmee hij met drie titels mede-recordhouder werd naastSam Hornish Jr. die in de periode 2001-2006 eveneens drie titels won. De trofeeRookie of the Year werd gewonnen door de BritAlex Lloyd. Belgisch coureurBertrand Baguette finishte op de tweeëntwintigste plaats in de eindstand. Zijn beste resultaat behaalde hij met een tiende plaats in de race op deKentucky Speedway.

Vanaf dit jaar worden er extra punten verdeeld voor de startposities tijdens deIndianapolis 500. Elke coureur die zich kan kwalificeren voor de race verdient daarmee punten. De coureur oppoleposition krijgt 15 punten in plaats van 1 zoals het geval is tijdens de andere races uit het kampioenschap.
