ARE YOU A U.S. CITIZEN WHO NEEDS A PASSPORT?

VisitForms to find the form you need and begin the process of completing and submitting your passport application. U.S. citizens may be accompanied by someone during their scheduled appointment (examples: an attorney, an interpreter, or a family member). The individual will be subject to standard security procedures and screening.

If you are traveling within the next two weeks, please see theEmergency Passportssection.  Passport services are not available on weekends or on Nicaraguan or U.S. holidays.

Applicants Age 15 or Under Without Both Parents Present

The DS-3053 is the Statement of Consent for Issuing a Passport to a Child and the DS-5525 is the Statement of Special Family Circumstances.

You must provide one photo on a white background with your passport application. Our photo policies apply to adults and children. We have a few exceptions to our photo policies for infants.

How can I get a visa?

The official website,http://ustraveldocs.com/ni/, provides information about how to apply for a visa, the steps you will need to take, the requirements, the form you will need to complete, and how to make an appointment. If you have a question about a visitor or tourist visa, you should contact the call center by calling 7877-7600 (Movistar) from Nicaragua or 703-745-5479 from the United States.  You can also send an email tosupport-nicaragua@ustraveldocs.com.

How do I get a student visa?

The United States welcomes foreign citizens who come to the United States to study.  Before applying for a visa, all student visa applicants are required to be accepted and approved by their school or program.  Once accepted, educational institutions will provide each applicant the necessary approval documentation to be submitted when applying for a student visa.
