EARLINGTON, Ky. —Friday night's tornado that swept across three states demonstrated its sheer power in Hopkins County, Kentucky, derailing 27 train cars near this small town.

As dawn broke Saturday, crews were working to clean up the derailment on a CSX line.

Workers on scene pointed to one car the tornado swept 75 yards away from the track, up a hill. One train car landed in a home, but Earlington firefighters on scene Saturday morning said there were no immediate reports of injuries or fatalities at the site.
