Matt Fryatt hit his second hat-trick in two games as League One leaders Leicester brushed aside Southend to secure a sixth consecutive home win. Fryatt put the Foxes ahead when he ran onto a pass from Matt Oakley and fired home a low shot. The City striker made it 2-0 with another cool finish from 15 yards following Steve Howard's flick-on. And Fryatt completed his hat-trick when he confidently stroked home a penalty after Peter Clarke handled.
