A previously un-released version of A Little Less Conversation appeared on the soundtrack album for Ocean's 11, the recent remake of the rat pack classic.
Permission
It was this version that sport giants Nike decided to use in its campaign for the World Cup.
The company then employed Tom Holkenborg, or DJ JXL, to remix the song after seeking permission from the Elvis Presley estate.
JXL is the first musician to be given permission to remix an Elvis Presley song, his estate having turned down numerous requests to use his material.
But the DJ had to drop his usual stage name of Junkie XL on the request of the estate because it was not comfortable with the drug connotations.
Presley's return to the top shows that modern-day pretenders to his crown had still better watch out.
Golden oldies
The song, taken from the hit album Fever, entered the chart at number two, followed by Sophie Ellis Bextor with the double A-side Get Over You/Move.
Eminem's dominance at the top of the album charts remains unchallenged as the Eminem Show remains at number one.
But it is more golden oldies sitting at number two as Queen's Greatest Hits I, II & III rockets up the charts.
Queen are enjoying a revival largely thanks to the musical We Will Rock You which is running in London's West End.
Queen were also back in the news as guitarist Brian May took to the roof of Buckingham Palace to lead the crowds in the national anthem.
