The current length of the B62 Limited route is 7.6 miles. This would change to 8.7 miles under the Draft Plan.

In the existing route, the average stop spacing is 870 feet. Under the proposed route, that would increase to 1,459 feet. There would be 1.6 turns per mile. 

The route would include connections to the B25, B26, B27, B38, B39, B41, B41 XT, B43, B44 SBS, B45, B48, B52, B53, B54, B57, B61, B63, B65, B66, B67, B69, Q18, Q19, Q39, Q54, Q59, Q63, Q66, Q67, Q68, Q69, Q104  and LIRR trains.

Review the B62 Limited route summary

As part of both the Brooklyn and Queens Bus Network Redesigns, the proposed B62 would be extended north from Long Island City to Astoria via 21 St, providing new all-day frequent service between Brooklyn and Queens, responding to customer requests for better interborough service. Although the proposed B62 would no longer directly serve Queens Plaza and Queensborough Plaza, service would still be provided by the Queens Bus Network Redesign’s proposed Q63 or Q66. In Brooklyn, the proposed B62 would use Flushing Av immediately adjacent to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, providing better connections from that employment center to the north. Service on Park Av would be provided by the proposed B57, and service to York St in Vinegar Hill would be provided by the proposed B27 and B67. Through Williamsburg, the proposed B62 would travel northbound on Bedford Av and southbound on Driggs Av and Lee Av, removing turns and reducing delays. Existing B62 service on Broadway, Division Av, and Kent Av/Wythe Av would be discontinued. The proposed B62 would travel on McGuinness Blvd between Nassau Av/Driggs Av and Freeman St/Green St to provide faster interborough travel. The B43 would continue to serve Manhattan Av.

As a Limited route, stops would be spaced slightly farther apart than Local routes to improve speed and reliability, but still within walking distance.

Frequencies would be increased on weekdays to 10-minutes-or-better and service would operate 24 hours on weekdays and weekends. Overnight, the proposed B62 would serve York St in Vinegar Hill via Navy St and Gold St.
