Both extremely similar kids monster battling anime from a similar time when such was the craze after the massive & explosive success of Pokemon.Both have young children as main characters but also just as important are the partner monster characters who are extremely intelligent and able to communicate in way where it appears to the viewer as though they are speaking the same language and so can have much more meaningful dialogue with their monster companions (unlike in Pokemon).Both have a variety of cool/cute monster designs and both shows see these monsters engage in battles on behalf of our heroes against a common enemy.
