Do you ever see, read, or experience a product of a show, where you want to protect the MC of such a show, with all your might and soul? That's where we find ourselves here with this series. Sophia Leeler is a precious angel that should be cherished always.

Story and characters: 7
The premise of the show is very straight forward, such as the story, which can make for a good watch throughout the season. If you need something nice, that can be well worth it to enjoy, while on the edge of your seat for other shows, you've found yourself in the right place. But...what it does, is provide quite the wholesome, and engaging experience, that would warm any pallet from start to finish.

But what really made me love this show is one character in itself. In Sophia Leeler herself. The more I watched, the more I wanted to root for such a character. For her to do well, to do her best, to have the most wholesome journey possible. That's how deep it's hitten me. While sure, I can tell this series isn't for everyone, or is it for everyone's tastes. But at times, it's nice to just have a sweet MC, that you WANT to see succeed, and have the best happen to them. Which is where we find ourselves here.

Throw in a mix of characters, that pretty much get established who is a main character, and who isn't given how the artstyle really presents itself, and you're in for an anime that sure, won't grab you by the eyes, and keep you glued to your seat, but more the nice and pleasant experience, that we all could do with in our lives.

Art and sound: 7
The art direction for the show is what I can best describe as standard in the sense of looking like a well put together show in general. The kind that looks sweet, looks nice, and doesn't look boring to te eye in any sense of the word. Unless something major happens to turn this show/series dark and depressing, it looks like a fun and sweet ride from start to finish. If the experience that they wanted to showcase through its art and style, and how it comes across in how it sounds, then they're doing a damned good job at that.

Come for the Sophia. Leave with the wholesomeness. Watch for sure.

The Gorilla God's Go To Girl is a shoujo anime alright. It has an interesting concept I will say, in a world where you receive a God's blessing at the age of 16, our protagonist, Sophia gets the blessing of the Gorilla God. Which predictably gives her super strength and everything else associated with a gorilla. With this power, she's enrolled into the knight exams where she meets the main guys of the series. Golden Retriever Isaac, marksman Eddie, and the big man himself, Louis who is the love interest.

Let me start with with this, I am not a fan of these female MCs, to...me they're likable as a person, but not as the protagonist. Sophia is timid and meek all the time and stutters out every sentence, which for a side character isn't terrible but it does not make for a good main character. Honestly, characters like Sophia are just female versions of the shy boy protagonists in romcoms in my opinion.
and do I really need to mention the other guys? You can already guess what they act like. The energetic one, the quiet and mysterious one, and the prince-like one.

I do like the gorilla stuff though and how she always ends up doing everything correctly because of it, just wish they used it more rather than just making the exact same shoujo anime you've seen a dozen times by now. It's like if they took the concept of Fruits Basket but instead of them actually turning into the animals, they just had the characteristics of the animals and made it way more generic.

All in all, it's a fine show. These types of shoujo anime just aren't for me obviously. but that's not to say there isn't an audience for it. It was interesting enough for me to watch 3 episodes, so that has to mean something, right?

I like the protagonist and side character. The shy teenage girl with a good heart and over powered strength is a pretty good story in the classic rich noble kid. So far liking the progression.

I will say, the story is good. The characters interesting. However I cannot describe how low quality the animation is. ALL the shortcut to eliminate actual animations are used.
- the "no eyes" still frame with voice acting background
- the ultra zoom on faces in a social scene to limit any animation.
- the far away plan where again, low effort no face plan
- recycling all the movement during a conversation.

Oh there's so...much more. The episodes with no action really are lacking and making the viewing experience a pretty mixed feeling experience.
Maybe it get action pacts but if it doesn't and it stay this slice of life, school life not much happens and it's continuously those self-doubt shy moment from MC, the quality will most likely stay extremely bad!
