British Nigerian singer-songwriter Samm Henshaw incorporates retro soul and gospel influences into his uplifting and energetic R&B sound.• The son of a reverend, Henshaw first got interested in music in the church. He grew up in South London and went on to study music at Solent University in Southampton.• After landing a deal with Columbia, he issued his debut EP, The Sound Experiment, in 2015. • Following tours with both James Bay and Chance the Rapper, Henshaw released his second EP, The Sound Experiment 2 in 2016. • A string of singles followed, including 2019’s inspiring “Church”, featuring EARTHGANG, a clear nod to his religious roots.
