Perubahan struktur sel melalui nekrosis atauapoptosis.
Nekrosis (daripadaYunani purba: νέκρωσις "kematian, peringkat kematian, pembunuhan" daripada νεκρός "mati") ialah satu bentukkecederaan sel yang menyebabkankematian pramatangsel padatisu hidup melaluiautolisis.[1] Nekrosis disebabkan oleh faktor yang luaran kepada sel atau tisu, seperti jangkitan, toksin, atau trauma yang menyebabkan pencernaan tidak terkawal atur bagi komponen sel. Berlawanan pula,apoptosis ialah sebab teratur cara dan bersasar yang berlaku secara semula jadi bagi kematian sel. Sementara apoptosis kerap menyediakan kesan bermanfaat kepada organisma, nekrosis hampir selalu memudaratkan dan boleh membawa maut.[2]
