PLEASE NOTE:
  • Those citizens of countries that require a visa to enter The Bahamas will need a visa when entering The Bahamas via cruise ship from the United States of America.
  • All visa applicants must be in possession of a valid passport with more than 6 months remaining.
  • An Electronic Entry Visa (EEV) does not guarantee entry into The Bahamas. Bahamas Border Management Officers have the right to deny entry into The Bahamas.
VISA CATEGORIES
Self Sponsored Visa

Self-Sponsored Visitor Visa is issued to persons travelling to the Bahamas for the purpose of leisure.

Supporting documents required for Single or Multiple Entry Visas:

Scan digital copies of the following documents must be current i.e. less than 6 months old and appended to your application:

In PDF format:

  • Completed and signed application form
  • Personal data and signature pages of your passport(click here to see sample)
  • A job letter(less than 6 months old from your employer) or a copy of a valid business license(for self-employed persons)
  • An original bank reference letter(less than 6 months old)
  • Police Report * (less than 6 months old)
  • Medical Certificate(less than 6 months old)
  • Intended address of Hotel/Cruise or residence while staying in The Bahamas
  • Proposed Flight itinerary/travel dates
  • Copy of conference/invitation letter(where applicable)
  • Copy of Children’s Birth Certificate to prove parental relations(if applying for a visa for a child)
  • Copies of previous BAHAMAS Visas if visited The Bahamas before (at least 3 are required for multiple entry consideration).
  • Proof of legal status in country of residence i.e. work permit, spousal permit, permanent residence cards etc.

Seaman’s Visa

A Seaman’s Visa is issued to crew members of boats temporarily visiting The Bahamas for the purpose of trade or employees of cruise ships that are registered vessels of The Bahamas.

Supporting documents required for a Single Entry or Multiple Entry Seaman’s Visa:

Scanned digital copies of the following current (i.e. less than 6 months old) photo and supporting documents are required to be appended to your application:

In PDF format:

  • Completed and signed application form
  • Personal data and signature pages of your passport(click here to see sample)
  • Police Report *(less than 6 months old)
  • Medical Certificate(less than 6 months old)
  • Copies of previous BAHAMAS Visas if visited The Bahamas before (at least 3 are required for multiple entry consideration).
  • Ship or Boat registration
  • Proof of Ship or Boat ownership
  • Temporary cruising permit issued by Bahamas Customs
  • Dockage fees from Bahamas Port Department

VISA ENTRY TYPES & COSTS
Asingle entry visa is valid for one entry only to The Bahamas with the time frame of three (3) months.
Amultiple entry visa is valid for multiple entries to The Bahamas for periods of three (3) months, six (6) months and one (1) year. However, the applicant must provide scanned copies of three (3) previous successful visas to The Bahamas as supporting documents.

The following fees are payable at the time of VISA application and are non-refundable.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO OBTAIN A VISA?

The standard processing time for an eVISA is 7-10 business days, not including the submission date and providing that all supporting documents are in order at the time of your initial submission and no interview is required.

INTERVIEW (and fingerprints of the visa applicant taken, if required)

Applicants will be interviewed at their selected visa office in the “Preferred Appointment” details section of the online portal. Bring the completed application form, visa confirmation page and original documents with you. Where necessary, applicants will be directed to another Bahamas Overseas Office by email.

PLEASE NOTE: All persons must present the passport used to apply for the visa and theElectronic Entry Visa (EEV) to the Immigration Officer on arrival in The Bahamas.
