Istanbul adolah kota paliang gadang di Turki, nan talatak di Selat Bosporus, parbatasan antaro Eropa jo Asia. Kota iko dianggap sabagai ibu kota ekonomi, budaya, jo sijarah negara tersebut. Kota ini bafungsi sabagai ibu kota kakaisaran salamo ampaing 1600 tahun: salamo kakaisaran Bizantium (330-1204), Latin (1204-1261), Bizantium akhir (1261-1453), jo Utsmaniyah (1453-1922).[6].
