The inside of anInn

Inns are buildings located in various places aroundMiitopia. They serve as checkpoints as well as places forMiis to restore HP and MP. There is an Inn at the end of every path except those leading to finalBosses. The scenery outside the windows, background when picking a room, and room layout/decorations all vary depending on the region it is in. Inns contain 5 rooms that hold two Miis each, plus a stable that holds thehorse and one Mii in the Switch version. The Inn can only hold 10 Miis at a time, and up to four of these Miis being able to be selected to set out as aparty to explore. While in the Inn, Miis may want to see other Miis (represented by a thought bubble) or talk to their roomate (represented by three dots). In addition, the player can give MiisGold to spend, have themEat Grub, and play at theArcade. In the Nintendo Switch port, it additionally becomes possible to send Miis onOutings.

Inn Events

Main article:Inn/Events

There are multiple events that can occur while at an Inn. When entering an Inn, a Mii will sometimes think to themselves about visiting another Mii's room, indicated with a thought bubble containing the wanted Mii's face while they look back and forth rapidly. Once the Miis are in the same room, a speech bubble will display and start a cutscene when selected. In most cases, these events will increase therelationship between the two Miis. In the Nintendo Switch version, the horse can also think about Miis it'd like to have visit its stable after reaching the Inn.

Sickness

Beginning after the defeat of theDark Lord, there is a 30% chance that a randomparty member may become sick at each newly reached Inn. Sick party members lie in bed and are incapable of setting out with the party, eating grub, going onOutings, or participating in Inn events aside from another party member checking in on them. Party members recover from sickness if theirrelationship increases with another party member, after the party has accumulated enoughEXP, or the party engages theDarkest Lord in battle. During the main story, only the AI party members may become sick; after defeating the Darkest Lord and completing the main story, it becomes possible for thehero to become sick as well.
