Wikimedians of Bashkortostan User Group (Башҡортостан викимедиасылары төркөмө) is a group of people interested in Wikimedia projects inBashkir language andBashkortostan related topics.

Assuming good faith of taking part in world Wikimovement and for realization of the main aim to spread free knowledge in all languagesBashkir volunteers came together at Ufa on August 4, 2015, and decided to register a local organization. Wikimedia affiliations committeeconfirmed recognition of theWikimedia user group request on November 11, 2015.

• Promotion ofWikipedia in Bashkir language
• Promotion of Bashkortostan related topics in different languages
• Promotion of Wikimedia projects in Bashkortostan
• Creating organization by using name of Wikimedia in Bashkortostan according to Russian legislation
• Cooperating with local authorities, organizations and individuals to receive grants and other materials to promote free knowledge

• Organizing wikimeetups
• Organizing article contests and thematic weeks
• Joining projects organized and promoted byWikimedia RU (Wikimedialocal chapter in Russia) and promote them in Bashkortostan
• etc.in line withBashWiki community development plan (in Bashkir)

In 2015, Wikipedia in Bashkir language celebrates 10 years. Wikimedia RU has been organizing a number of events, one of them wasWiki-Sabantuy-2015 in Ufa with international WikiConference. Participants from Estonia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Poland, Ukraine and different regions of Russia (including Wikipedians who edit Wikipedia in regional languages of Russia) took part in it.

Later Ukrainian Wikipedians organizedthematic week about Bashkortostan and Bashkir Wikipedians helped them with content and prizes for participants.

In September 2015, a Wikipedian from ba-wiki participated at CEE Meeting 2015 in Estonia.
