Hi Shahadu,
I saw your post applying for a grant to come to Canada for a Commons event. I'm a librarian from the U.S. and I've been invited to travel to Mafi Gborkope, Ghana this July to help build a library there as part of the African Library Project.
I attended OpenCon in Washington, DC this past November and have become very interested in the Open Movement as well as the Wikimedia Foundation. In addition to assisting with the library while on the trip, I'd like to tie this trip to a Wikimedia project. I see that you do work with the Commons- I'd like to know if you see any potential Wikimedia projects in the kind of trip I'm taking. I've never been to Ghana or the African continent so I can't pretend to presume any needs.
If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks,

We have some exciting events coming up that we’d love to share with you!
AtArt+Feminism, we believe that as feminist editors, our strength is in collective action. When we edit together, we share resources, knowledge, and skills; in doing so, we form a defense against harassment within the Wikiverse and beyond. Alongside our initiatives to close diversity gaps and create a safer Wikipedia, Art+Feminism remains committed to doing our part. This year that includes creating more virtual spaces for us to connect with one another, share knowledge, and edit together.
To start, join Art+Feminism and Wiki Editoras Lx on 15 February to discuss and practice strategies for collective editing. This event kicks off our series of virtual editing tables for our Year 11 campaign. You can seeour full schedule here andregister today.
We’ll also be hosting two special conversations:Online & On the Ground: Abortion Activism in Maryland andCollective Imagination + Radical Futures: Kansas City Organizers on Making Art & Building Power. These online events are open to all and we hope to see you there!
If you’d like to join the campaign by hosting your own A+F event but haven’t yet, it’s not too late! You can viewour campaign resources here and send us an email to let us know you’re joining.

Greetings!
TheLanguage and Product Localization team has developed aLua interface to simplify the preparation of Lua modules for translation in the MetaWiki platform. This means that module developers can now use the new Lua interface to load translatable strings, and the translators can translate them in the same translation interface that is used for templates and wiki pages.
This improvement makes it easier for translators to find and edit module strings without dealing with raw Lua code. It helps prevent mistakes that could break the module during translation.
We invite you towatch our demo videoand read more abouttranslatable modules to understand how it works. Please give us your feedback onthis talk page on how well the Lua interface addresses the challenges in your workflow and how useful it is in module localization tasks. You can also refer toModule:User Wikimedia project, which was recently converted to utilize these messages, for example usage.
Your feedback is important as it will help us evaluate and decide how to continue developing and improving this interface, extend it to other wikis, or change our approach.
Thank you, and we anticipate your honest feedback.
