I'm a slightly crazed software developer fromAlaska!
In previous incarnations of myself I've worked for fairly large organizations and software labs doing proprietary development: everything from aircraft control systems, psychiatric experimentation, finite element analysis, and vulnerability analysis/development. Although here at Wikimedia I primarily develop in PHP, I have strong backgrounds in C, assembly, and Python.
Formally I received a dualBS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in mathematics. I also have education and practical experience in the physics of materials (think silicon chip manufacturing) as well as technical theatre.
I have lived in the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Azerbaijan. During that time I learned to speak, and then forgot, passable French and Russian.
I would describe my interests in no particular order as:
I'm responsible for maintaining and enhancingCentralNotice,Donation Interface and various other fundraising code which may be found ingerrit. I also have my fingers in various parts of MediaWiki core development, PDF rendering, templating, caching, and analytics.
