No decisions. We won’t be making decisions about the movement, about projects, about affiliates, or about the future at this event. We’ll be coming together to learn from each other, to discuss proposals and ideas that we can then take back to our communities.
Be bold. Bring proposals instead of just questions. If you see a problem, raise it and join in creating a solution.
Name the elephants. If you have a concern or see a tension, let’s talk about it.
Be open and curious. We will invite external experts to the event and want to create a space where external perspectives are heard, valued, and respected.
Stay engaged. This is not about a single event, but about a process of ensuring that we as a movement are understanding and responding to global trends.
The event aims to bring together a group of participants that reflects a diversity of expertise and perspectives. The goal is to create a space where different voices can meet, learn from each other, debate constructively and discuss potential responses to shape the future of Wikimedia.
In selecting participants, the team will consider:
Relevant expertise and knowledge related to the threeprogram tracks, so that discussions can build on data, research, and practical insights.
Interest and potential to contribute to change within Wikimedia, so that the outcomes of the event can be brought back to people who couldn’t attend, and follow-up actions can be initiated.
Diversity of backgrounds, so that these global conversations can benefit from a wide range of perspectives present in the Wikimedia Movement.
