TheSulek-class was a type ofFederationstarship in service toStarfleet in the mid-23rdcentury as aprospector or asurvey vessel. (TOSnovel:How Much for Just the Planet?)

Technical specifications[]

Though very small,Sulek-class ships were actually comfortable for their usual crew of threeStarfleet or civilianofficers. They did have a crampedbridge, but they made up for that by boasting a fairly spaciousmess hall /briefing room for the crew to relax in or to discuss ship's business. Like largerstarships, they were equipped with standardfood synthesizers. Though capable of creating meals of appropriate niutritional value and acceptable taste and texture, certain food synth units had been known to suffer a minor glitch, causingbeverages likeorange juice to have a vivid, electric blue hue, or forSouthern fare likegrits to come out signal-flare orange.

Ships of this class boasted an impressivesensor array, similar in appearance to thenavigational deflector dish of theConstitution-class.

Though too small to have a hangar, they were equipped with a small sphericalescape pod.

Though capable of a cruising speed ofwarp 4, if they were forced to use breakaway speeds inorbit of aplanet, theirinertial dampeners would not be able to compensate, creating a fatal hazard for the crew. (TOSnovel:How Much for Just the Planet?)
