TheStarfleet Museum was amuseum with several facilities that housedstarships important to thehistory ofStarfleet.

History and specifics[]

22nd century[]

In the late22nd century, the first Starfleet Museum building was established onMemory Alpha. It opened to the public onreference stardate1/21. (STreference:Spaceflight Chronology,FASA RPGmodule:The Romulan War)

FASA stated that it was finished onreference stardate1/06, whereasSpaceflight Chronology provided the date of1/21.

After2161, the decommissionedEnterprise NX-01 was given to the museum. (ENTepisode: "These Are the Voyages...")

Museum ships often hadtheir interiors available for visitation.Deflector shields,weapons andwarp drive systems were removed fromorbiting vessels. Their positions were managed from the ground viatractor beams.

Several survivingEarth Starfleet ships from theRomulan War were transferred to the museum's holdings within tenyears of its opening. Among them was a famousJuggernaut-classbattlecruiser prototype, though that ship was not open to the public. (FASA RPGmodule:Old Soldiers Never Die)

23rd century[]

Added to museum holdings was a2264 photo taken of the first meeting ofChristopher Pike andJames T. Kirk. (TOSreference:The Autobiography of James T. Kirk)

The2260s bridge module of theConstitution-classUSSEnterprise was also among its holdings. (TNGnovel:Crossover)

In2273 of thePhase II continuity,James T. Kirk tookV'Ger'sIliaprobe toStarfleet's Archives Building inSan Francisco and showed itNASA records to prove thatVoyager 2 originated fromEarth. (Phase IIepisode: "In Thy Image")

In2284, onreference stardate2/2107.13,Orionpirates stole theUSSJuggernaut from the museum in hopes of overhauling it for piracy. (FASA RPGmodules:Old Soldiers Never Die,Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update)

In2293, a terrorist group of humans calling itself1992 stole theUSSYorktown from the museum and attempted to travel back in time to erase the events of theEugenics Wars. The group, along with theYorktown, disappeared. (STreference:Federation: The First 150 Years)

24th century[]

In the2360s, theConstitution-classUSSNew Jersey was located at the museum. (TNGepisode: "Relics",PICepisode: "The Bounty")

CaptainJean-Luc Picard encountered aType-1 phaser from the23rd century, that he believed he would be able to find in this museum in2370. (TNGnovel:Requiem)

Starbase 122 also featured part of the Starfleet Museum. TheUSSEnterprise-A was on display there in2369. (TNGcomic: "Old Debts")

By the early2370s, theMuseum of Starfleet History was located just northeast ofStarfleet Academy'sAdministration Center and north of the graduate dormitories. (Last Unicorn RPGmodule:Starfleet Academy)

Every starship that bore the nameUSSEnterprise (or areplica) was also stationed and placed at the museum, honoring the famous Federation starships. (ENTepisode: "These Are the Voyages...")

TheDaedalus-classUSSDiscovery was housed at the Starfleet Museum inSan Francisco and was a walk-through exhibit in2374. (DS9 -Millenniumnovel:The War of the Prophets)

The Starfleet Museum had a facility onEpsilon Sigma V, which also boasted a great gift shop. ThePlanet Killer was one of many large exhibits at this "Trophy World" in2380. (TNGnovel:Before Dishonor)

Prior to2381,Beckett Mariner andBrad Boimler visited the museum and toured the NX-01. (SNWepisode: "Those Old Scientists")

By2399, artifacts from theUSSEnterprise-D were among the holdings at theStarfleet Archive Museum inSan Francisco.Jean-Luc Picard visited the facility that year. (PICepisode: "Remembrance")

25th century[]

In the year2401, the museum was underCommodoreGeordi La Forge's supervision when the crew of theUSSTitan-A visited it and asked for help, although he was initially reluctant he ended up helping them install theHMS Bounty'scloaking device into theTitan. (PICepisode: "The Bounty")

Not long afterwards, onFrontier Day, La Forge, with the rest of theEnterprise-D's command crew, returned to the museum to make use of their old ship, which La Forge had spent the last twenty years restoring. (PICepisode: "Võx")

In2402, the fully restoredEnterprise-D was put on display in the museum. (PICepisode: "The Last Generation")
