Star Trek: Seekers is anovel series created byDavid Mack,Dayton Ward, andKevin Dilmore. It is a sequel to the events ofStar Trek: Vanguard, and features some ofVanguard'scharacters, ships, and settings.Seekers will be a return toStar Trek's original ideology of "seeking out new worlds and new civilizations," and will center on theUSSEndeavour and theUSSSagittarius as they explore theTaurus Reach.
Inspiration[]
The inspiration forSeekers came from theauthors desire to continue their creative partnership once theVanguard series finished, and from the imaginary series"The Seekers" created byRob Caswell. Mack had seen Caswell's1970s-style cover art of the faux-book series, itself inspired by theanthologies ofThe Original Seriesepisode adaptations byJames Blish.
Novels[]
As originally envisaged, theSeekers novels were not to have names; instead, they were to be numbered, just like the TOS anthologies. However, names for the first two novels were released:Second Nature debuted at theShore Leave convention in2014, and was written by David Mack; andPoint of Divergence was released a month later, inAugust, written by Ward & Dilmore. These first two novels are a single two-part story to launch the series, with following novels being more of a stand-alone type.
