TheLiberty-class was a type ofUnited Earth starship, apicket cruiser inStarfleet service in the22nd century. TheLiberty vessels were intended to serve only assub-light engine picket craft, and around the beginning of theEarth-Romulan War, they were withdrawn from deepspace service and were re-purposed asstar system defense craft. (FASA RPGmodule:The Romulan War)

The source material specifies Federation allegiance for all allied vessels in the Romulan War, but latercanon contradicts this in stating that this was prior to the Federation founding. In accordance with the canon version, these vessels are referred to as Coalition of Planets allies for the purposes of this wiki.
