In themirror universe,Kal Dano was aShirna scientist from the27th century who invented a device known as theTox Uthat, aquantum phase inhibitor capable of stopping allnuclear fusion within astar.

Dano was pursued by twoVorgon criminals,Ajur andBoratus, who wanted the device. Dano travelled into the past in order to hide it. He booby trapped the Uthat to self-destruct if anyone attempted to use it. It was eventually discovered by theTerran archaeologist for hireJean-Luc Picard in2377.
