Gypsy World is a 1996Star Trek: Deep Space Nine novel byTed Pedersen. It is the seventh novel in the DS9 novel series for young adults.

Summary[]

Jake's interest is piqued when a Fjori ship docks at DS9 for repairs. The Fjori are a nomadic culture like the Gypsies of Earth and are famed for their travels in space and the star charts that they have compiled of their journeys. The Fjori want privacy while their ship is docked, so Commander Sisko orders it off limits. Not put off, Jake is further intrigued when Nog claims that he knows the location of the lost Fjori home world. Nog admits that he actually doesn't know, but counters that if they could sneak aboard the Fjori ship they could find the information in the star charts. In Quark's they see a young Fjori teenager called Kala swindle a bar patron. Nog steals the items, three cloud crystals, in the confusion. Jake convinces Nog that they have to return the crystals and they meet a Fjori girl called Vija just outside the Fjori ship. Nog meanwhile has been trying to access the Fjori ships star charts but is caught.
