Dorothy Catherine Fontana (25 March1939 -2 December2019) was a writer and script editor who has worked onStar Trek since its creation in the1960s. She wrote several episodes fromThe Original Series,The Animated Series,The Next Generation andDeep Space Nine as wellnovels,comics andvideo games.
Fontana's first and only novel to date isVulcan's Glory which was published1989. In1999 she wrote the story for the video gameSecret of Vulcan Fury which was ultimately unreleased. In the2000s she, with her writing partnerDerek Chester, wrote the story for a video game forActivision and later two more forBethesda Softworks.
In2007 she was interviewed forIDW's behind-the-scenes bookFocus on... Star Trek and shortly after she revealed she was working on a five part miniseries for thecomics publisher, again written with Derek Chester. She and Chester are also working on a newStar Trek novel and she would like to rework herSecret of Vulcan Fury story into a novel.[1]
