History and specifics[]

The Chaltoksystem could be visually seen fromSpace Station KR-3. In theyear2311,Elias Vaughn stood in front of a viewport on thespace station and tested his memory, naming all the major stars he could see inRomulan space. (TLEnovel:Serpents Among the Ruins)

The system'sfourth planet,Chaltok IV, was the home of aRomulan researchcolony that was nearly destroyed by apolaric ionenergy explosion in2268. (VOYepisode: "Time and Again")

Thevideo gameConquest mistakenly gives the date of the accident as2371, the date of the episode.

By2409 aYridian colony had settled on the former site of the outpost. (STOmission: "The Price of Neutrality")

The system has an ID code of 481139067 in the game software.

Conquest[]

In areality wherethe galaxy'sraces and cultures collapsed into full-scale war in2364, Chaltok was one of the systems embroiled in the breakdown ofdiplomacy. Chaltok produced only about a quarter of the resources as theRomulan system, and fell out of Romulan control around the time of that conflict. (STvideo game:Conquest)
