TheBajor sector - also known as Federation Sector 47 (TNGnovel:Dead Zone) - was a region of space in theAlpha Quadrant which included the planetBajor, theBajoran wormhole, andFederationStarbaseDeep Space 9. The Bajor sector borders theAlmatha sector, which is part of theCardassian Union. (DS9novel:Warpath)

Alternate realities[]
In analternate reality in which the Federation was defeated by theBorg Collective at theBattle of Wolf 359 in2367, the Borg occupation of theAlpha Quadrant had spread to the Bajor sector by2371 and Deep Space 9 had beenassimilated. While theUSSDefiant of another reality was travelling between universes, it discovered the assimilated DS9 and was fired upon by aBorg cube before escaping to a different reality.
