Thesnakehead was a type ofwarp-capablescout ship employed byRomulans in the late24th century. Despite its small size, it was heavily armed with twin retractable ventral-mounteddisruptor cannons and featured doublesubthrusters. It was protected bydeflector shields and acloaking device, which could be reversed to project a false decoy image of the ship. It was operated by a singlepilot.

In2399,Narek took one of these vessels from theArtifact and followedLa Sirena through atranswarp conduit toCoppelius and attacked it, only for his ship to be disabled by anorchid sent from the surface. (PIC: "Nepenthe", "Broken Pieces", "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1")

Several snakeheads were part of the Romulanfleet that subsequently attacked Coppelius. (PIC: "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2")
