Penelope Mitchell (born24 July1991; age 34) is an actress who playedRenée Picard in thesecond season ofStar Trek: Picard. She also playedTallinn (impersonating Renée) in the episode "Farewell".

Born and raised in Australia to a French artist mother and an Australian businessman father, Mitchell studied ballet from age four to sixteen. She studied to become a lawyer at Melbourne University, while continuing to perform and act.

She appeared in the Australian kids' showToon Time and guested in the police drama seriesRush andOffspring before moving to the United States to pursue an acting career in Hollywood.

She is best known for her recurring role as Liv Parker in the sixth season ofThe Vampire Diaries (2014-15), starringPaul Wesley, and her co-starring role as Letha Godfrey in the first season ofHemlock Grove (2013), which starredFamke Janssen.
