EnsignMeredith was afemaleHumanoperations divisionjunior officer who served aboard theUSSCerritos underCaptainCarol Freeman during the early2380s.
When she was young, Meredith'sfather took her to abeach, where she saw a deadfish. (LD: "Upper Decks")
In2381, Meredith was anengineer who was tasked with theweek-long cleanup of the ship's systems following theCerritos' encounter with aD'Arsay archive. She, along with the rest of the engineering staff, was put on mandatory retreat aboard theDove, where, among other things, she was given amassage and amani-pedi. (LD: "Room for Growth")
Meredith was later inmain engineering whenCommanderAndy Billups briefed the engineering staff on his expectations during themission race that theCerritos was facing against theUSSAledo. (LD: "The Stars At Night")
Meredith was one of three ensigns thatLieutenant junior gradeBrad Boimler supervised in his first away mission as the commanding officer. She was initially unimpressed by his leadership until he changed his approach and delegated meaningful responsibilities to the subordinate ensigns. (LD: "In the Cradle of Vexilon")
In2382, she informed Billups of a burnt-out indicator light in engineering. When Billups discovered thatretrofittedplasma canisters were about to explode, she assisted him in preventing anoverload. Unfortunately, a recently installedArtificial intelligencedefensegolem trapped Billups in acontainment chamber and had to be deactivated before they could continue with repairs. After telling the golem a sadstory from her childhood, Meredith was able to deactivate the golem and rescue Billups. At that point, the pair were able to decouple thedeuterium control conduits before the thermal blankets pushed the valve blocks into the adjustment coils. When the crisis was over, Meredith felt comfortable enough to call Billups by hisfirst name, but he told her that was inappropriate while they were on duty. (LD: "Upper Decks")
