Mary Kay Adams
Mary Kay Adams (born12 September1962; age 62) playedGrilka in theStar Trek: Deep Space Ninethird andfifth season episodes "The House of Quark" and "Looking for par'Mach in All the Wrong Places". She is a descendant of US PresidentsJohn Adams andJohn Quincy Adams.
Adams also auditioned for the role ofChalan Aroya. Adams also played the role of Na'Toth onBabylon 5 during that show's second season, taking over the role from fellowDeep Space Nine guest starCaitlin Brown. Although she was listed in the show's opening credits for the entire season, she only appeared in two episodes. Mostly, she worked withAndreas Katsulas on the show.
Adams commented: "Actors I am close to who have done these shows all agree thatStar Trek is fabulous because it's the closest thing to playing classical theater..It's very archetypal, it's very Shakespearean in its scope. All the aliens are of heroic proportions. Plus you're given direction to be bigger, to be stronger, to fill the makeup. The makeup does a lot of the work for you, but you have to find the balance of matching it somehow".[1]
