John Noble (born 20 August 1948; age 76) is an actor who voicedIlthuran ("The Diviner") inStar Trek: Prodigy.

He is best known for playing Denethor inThe Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) andThe Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), which also featuredJohn Rhys-Davies andKarl Urban in the cast, and scientist Walter Bishop in the seriesFringe (2008-13), created byJ.J. Abrams,Roberto Orci, andAlex Kurtzman.Leonard Nimoy,Orla Brady,William Sadler,Kenneth Tigar andMonte Markham appeared in recurring guest roles on this show.

Noble also played Russian consul Anatoly Markov in the sixth season of24 (2007) alongsideAlexander Siddig andGregory Itzin, produced and written byManny Coto, and Morland Holmes, the father ofSherlock Holmes in fifteen episodes ofElementary between 2015 and 2019. He voiced the time demon Mallus inLegends of Tomorrow (2017-18, withVictor Garber andNeal McDonough).
