Disruptor pistol

Disruptor pistols weredirected energy weapons similar toStarfleet'sphaser sidearms. Thedisruptor normally only had two settings:stun andkill. TheKlingons,Romulans, andBreen used this type of weapon. (Star Trek Generations)

In2371,Sub-CommanderT'Rul of theRomulan military carried a disruptor pistol as her personal sidearm during theUSSDefiant's first scouting mission into theGamma Quadrant. When the ship was boarded byJem'Hadar, she killed at least one of theDominion warriors with it. (DS9: "The Search, Part I")

Quark carried adisruptorpistol with him while serving asship's cook onboard aFerengi freighter. As he explained it, thefreighter crew were not overly fond of his cooking, necessitating the need to protect himself. In2372,Rom used several parts of hisbrother's pistol to repairthe bar'sreplicators, and had failed to return them by the time the Klingons were preparing to attackDeep Space 9. Quark's pistol had either been repaired or replaced by2375, when he accompanied theDefiant toAR-558. After his nephewEnsignNog was wounded, Quark used it to kill a Jem'Hadar who broke into the Starfleet base camp. (DS9: "The Siege of AR-558")
