The Day of Σ criminals[]

HackersMHX

Concept art of the four Reploid criminals that appear briefly in theThe Day of Σ.

A group ofReploid criminals appeared dead inChapter 3 of theMega Man Maverick Hunter X OVA,The Day of Σ. They were hired bySigma to hack industrialMechaniloids stationed aroundAbel City, causing them to rampage. Sigma executes them off-screen to cover his involvement in the events.

The pair on the left are simply referred to in concept art as mass-produced criminals, with monitors in Hunter Base designating the purple oneMannequin Seawater and the green oneOtakoakat. The short, stocky yellow Reploid is identified as the criminal leader. The skeleton-themed Reploid is calledBone (,Bone) in concept art, and in Hunter Base he's listed most wanted asInfant Watervalley.[1][2]

In the Archie comics crossoverWorlds Unite, Mavericks resembling them appeared as part ofSigma's forces at a base inSonic Universe #76.

The Day of Σ Maverick Hunters[]

Several unnamed Maverick Hunters appear in the animation. They appear to be mass-produced Reploid models due to the similarity between themselves and the civilian Reploids seen in one scene. Besides the generic Hunters, in one scene there are three different Reploids insideHunter Base: a green Reploid, a black panther-like Reploid, and a brown bear-like Reploid.

Series Information

In-game Appearances:

X2
The "Air Bike Companion" (仲間のエアバイク / ナカマノエアバイクNakama no Eabaiku, lit. "Colleague's Air Bike"),[4][5] better know by thefan nickname "Green Biker Dude" (abbreviated asGBD), was an unnamed green Maverick Hunter who accompaniedX in theOpening Stage ofMega Man X2. As his nickname suggests, he is a male Reploid with green armor and rides aRide Chaser bike. He was destroyed by the shots of aCannon Driver while preforming a wheelie on the way to theMaverick Factory Stage. Since his death, the Green Biker Dude has become a memetic icon to hardcore fans, either as a subject of ridicule or admiration. His popularity stems mainly from the throwaway or "Redshirt" nature of his appearance, as he was only on-screen for a matter of seconds before getting killed.

In theRockman X2 manga, there is a similar character calledBoy who is killed by a traitorous Hunter named Heel in the first chapter.

His nickname is referenced in the ArchieMega Man comic. In the story arcProto-Type,Proto Man calls a human "green biker dude" due to the fact he rides a green motorcycle.

Mega Man X4 Maverick Hunters[]

InX's story, after X travels to theFinal Weapon, three unnamed Maverick Hunters in the 17th Unit are preparing a space shuttle to provide him backup. They bullyDouble for his clumsiness, but are shocked when Double suddenly receives the order to transform and slaughter them all. With two killed, the last of them radios X, but he is killed by Double, who takes the receiver and tells X it was a false alarm. Although their specific role beyond being Maverick Hunters isn't clearly indicated in the English localization, the Japanese version of Sigma's order revealed that the three Maverick Hunters were meant to act as backup for X when the latter went up to space.

InZero's story, a flashback shows Sigma working with several unnamed Maverick Hunters. They are positioned outside the laboratory where Zero awoke, and watch as Sigma enters alone. When he emerges, at first they believe he is untouched, but are surprised once he gets close enough to see the extent of his injuries. Sigma ordered them to recover Zero and contact Dr. Cain for study, and when one asked if he was alright, Sigma shoved them aside and walked away. The one with a mouthguard is called aBrainy Type, while the one with the claw is called aPower Type.

Garma's Unit[]

Garma's Unit,[6] known as "Garuma's unit" (ガルマの部隊,Garuma no butai)[6] in Japan, was a unit of Maverick Hunters mentioned by Sigma in a flashback. Zero wiped out all members of the unit, and Sigma decided to fight against the red Maverick himself to avoid more sacrifices. It is unknown if the Reploid corpses seen in Zero's dream in the beginning of the game were members of this unit. It is possible that Garma is a mistranslation and/or pun on the 3rd Greek letter "gamma" (with one possible scenario being that Garma is the unit leader, and his unit is the "Gamma Unit").

The unit was mentioned byHalloween Sigma in the beginning of theMega Man X DiVE Halloween event "The mysterious master of the Nocturnal Castle".

InMega Man X5,Mega Man X6, andMega Man X7, injured Reploids appear in stages pleading for the Maverick Hunters to save them. There is a single Reploid design across all ofMega Man X5, whileX6 andX7 feature a different design for each of the eight stages. The small yellow Reploid fromAmazon Area inX6 is a recolor ofMiddy fromMega Man Xtreme.[7]

Mega Man X5 Maverick Hunters[]

In X's good ending, three years after Sigma's defeat, three Maverick Hunters - a blue male, a brown male, and a white female - are seen accompanying X to stop a Maverick in HORIE 2146 block. One of them comments that X's eyes have sharpened since Zero's disappearance. This trio also appears in theTEPPEN card Supply.

In X's bad ending, one week after Sigma's defeat, two yellow Hunters ask X how he and Zero defeated Sigma, but X doesn't remember the battle and has completely forgotten about Zero. One of them asks what X's dream is, to which X responds that he someday wants to create "Elysium", a paradise where humans and Reploids coexist peacefully.

Researcher[]

MysteryScientistMMX6

The scientist that appears in Zero's ending ofMega Man X6.

In Zero's ending inMega Man X6, the "Researcher" (研究者,Kenkyuusha),[8] also known as "Mystery Scientist" (謎の科学者,Nazo no Kagakusha, "Mysterious Scientist"), is an unnamed Reploid scientist that performs Zero's sealing process. His design is full of square motifs and he is voiced by Yoshinori Fujita.[9] Players are left to assume that Zero has known him at least long enough to trust his motives. It is implied that this ending ultimately leads to the events ofMega Man Zero.

While approaching X inCentral Tower's Air City North Square, he claimed he was not truly a supporter ofEpsilon's actions, but as Reploids, they should still support the idea of independence.
