Secretary Michael R. Pompeo met today with Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip to discuss a range of bilateral issues. Secretary Pompeo pledged continued U.S. support for Moldova’s chosen European future and urged implementation of key reforms to protect Moldova against outside interference and advance its European integration. The Secretary reminded Prime Minister Filip that free and fair elections are a hallmark of a democratic government and must reflect the will of the country’s citizens without political interference.
