Figure.get_tightbbox(renderer=None,*,bbox_extra_artists=None)[source]#

Return a (tight) bounding box of the figurein inches.

Note thatFigureBase differs from all other artists, which returntheirBbox in pixels.

Artists that haveartist.set_in_layout(False) are not includedin the bbox.

Parameters:

rendererRendererBase subclass

Renderer that will be used to draw the figures (i.e.fig.canvas.get_renderer())

bbox_extra_artistslist ofArtist orNone

List of artists to include in the tight bounding box. IfNone (default), then all artist children of each Axes areincluded in the tight bounding box.

Returns:

BboxBase

containing the bounding box (in figure inches).
