Lancer imagines a future where a survivor humanity has spread to the stars after weathering terrible ecological collapse on Earth - the end of the Anthropocene as a consequence of unrestrained consumption and poor stewardship. Thousands of years later, humanity lives in the wake of a desperate revolution, one where the victorious radicals now manage the galaxy they've won.
The setting features a mix of gritty, mud-and-lasers military science fiction and mythic science fantasy, where conscript pilots mix ranks with flying aces, mercenary guns-for-hire brawl with secretive corpro-state agents, and relativistic paladins cross thermal lances with causality-breaking, unknowable beings.Lancer's galaxy is one where utopia exists, but is under threat, and the struggle is not yet entirely won; the revolution is not yet done.
InLancer, players adopt the roles of mechanized chassis pilots - mech pilots - comrades together in a galaxy of danger and hope. Some groups will fight to rectify the crimes of previous administrations; others will fight for their nation, pieces in a greater game of hegemony. Others will carry the banner of a corpro-state or mercenary company, working to advance private interests while lining their pockets. Others still will fight for groups acting in opposition to those in power - for the underground, for the forgotten, agents of entropy and agents of yet more radical revolutions.
Lancer offers deep, modular mech customization, a wide range of player backgrounds and hooks to prompt storytelling, and a system and setting with room for any narrative you and your group want to tell. It’s best with a group of 3-5 players, and can be used to run a one-shot session or persistent campaign.

idk who will see this but I wrote a review of lancer:https://batts.substack.com/p/building-a-time-machine-to-review
Does buying the physical book enable me to somehow get the npc data or character sheets or tokens, or lcps, or do I need to buy the pdf? I'm okay with buying it again, I just wanna know.
Edit: I am visually impaired, and the qr code was small and in the bottom right corner. The answer to my question was Yes.
sucks that something like this is the only place to voice the problem, I have sent multiple emails now after purchasing the physical book on amazon, it's coming up on two weeks of owning the book and me and my group have still yet to get to play the game. maybe complaining here gets me a response one day.
Had this issue as well but would you happen to have purchased the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality in 2020 or so? This full version of Lancer was included and I didn’t realize that I already own it myself so I was able to download it. IIRC everything from that bundle doesn’t automatically appear in your library as to not clutter it so the page here will show a purchase option.
Of course there’s also just the chance that the QR code is broken. But maybe you already own it.
They are currently aware of the issue and looking into it:

Hey, this would be a great question to ask in the (un)official Lancer discord: https://discord.gg/lancer
The folks over there are great, and there are a ton of resources they've got listed for supplements to play.
Massif tweeted out recently that they're looking at getting more physical copies. But there's no real timeframe on it as of yet.https://twitter.com/Lancer_RPG/status/1614675569588801537?s=20
Hey i got the book withhttps://app.playrole.com/games/ but i didn't get the Comp/con with it is that right?
Yeah you're right, I apologise for this message. I've made it while I had no way to communicate with the staff due to a shadow-like ban. It has been sorted out thankfully and have just forgot I wrote this message. I'll delete it since it doesn't reflect who I am anymore along with getting a thirdparty for no reason involved.
It looks like they started selling a physical copy, perhaps fairly recently; it's available from Massif's online store.https://massif.netlify.app/shop
Yep, that site launched March 25:https://twitter.com/Lancer_RPG/status/1375101296823439360
I'm loving the book and finally have someone interested in playing it! My question is: in the section talking about non-human intelligences, when you mention the Egregori in the footnotes you mention that there is an expansion coming that will dive deeper into this topic called No Room for a Wallflower. I noticed it's not available in the store yet, is there any info you can give us on when it'll be coming out?
Act 1 is now out, here:https://massif-press.itch.io/no-room-for-a-wallflower-act-1
It's the first part of a 2(?)-act campaign.
The official discord has a dedicated comp/con channel with faqs.https://discord.gg/DmRRQFAccf Remember to backup often.
If you're using the webapp the content manager is on the home screen or in the top right context menu marked by three dots. It should be under directory.
It looks like all refunds on itch.io would have to go through itch.io's support regardless:https://itch.io/docs/legal/terms#9-refunds
You can contact support by emailing support@itch.io.
As of March 25, they've launched a site where you can buy a physical copy of the core book here:https://massif.netlify.app/shop
Are you asking about how to put it into Comp/Con or where to find the file?
If it's the latter: For the paid/premium version of the core book, the NPC data is listed alongside the other downloads.
If you don't have the material associated with your itch.io account: I believe that if you got it on BackerKit, you should have received an email with a link to an itch.io page where you could download/access it from.
