History
Origin[]
Shakti Haddad was the leader of theX-Men from the year2099. As a mutant, she grew up believing in the legends ofKrakoa and admiring CaptainKatherine Pryde, who became her hero.[3]
The X-Men originally inhabited theSavage Land, but they were forced to leave after an attack from theCabal, an illuminati group that was above the law, thanks to their Black Cards. During their new life as scavengers, the X-Men were joined byCable, a time-sliding mutant soldier from the future and a former member of the Avengers with whom Haddad became very close. Either during the attack or prior, she was depowered.[1]
Celestial Garden[]
Northstar eventually discovered and informed Cerebra of theCelestial Garden, an oasis with amutant at its core, which the X-Men believed to be a place they could call a home. After they arrived, Haddad and the X-Men discovered that the Mutant core of the Garden were the remnants ofNate Grey.
The team was then attacked by Cabal Sentinels, when one of the sentinels was about to killKrystalin, Cerebra took the hit for her, which left her mortally wounded. As Haddad lay dying, Cable took her to another time in an attempt to save her life, leaving the X-Men to fend off on their own during a fight that they would eventually win.[1]

Cerebra after having been resurrected
Krakoa[]
Cable brought Cerebra toEarth-616, their past, during the time when the era of Krakoa was at its height. There, she was revived byThe Five using theirKrakoan resurrection process, regaining her lost powers in the process, and met her heroKate Pryde.[2] After a few days, Kate asked Cerebra to join her newMarauders, but she decided to wait for the right time. Haddad later wrote a letter to Kate where she detailed most of her history and offered to help her open a timedrive with her biometric powers.[3] AfterDoctor Nemesis analyzed how her powers work and reported it to Kate to be sure the attempt would work, Shakti managed to open the timedrive and three mutants of the Threshold,Crave,Theia, andAmass, were resurrected.[4]
Cerebra participated in the mission of Krakoan Response Team toMilford that was supposedly attacked by a mutant. She used her powers to analyze the DNA of the attacker and determined that its owner was bioengineered with multiple powers and short longevity. It was created to die and destroy Milford.[5]
Fall of X[]
After Krakoa fell, Shakti moved to one of the last safe places for the mutants,Camp Gozhoo.[6] The Camp was soon attacked byOrchis and severalExternals and Cerebra was among many mutants they'd captured and delivered toNova Roma.[7]
All mutants were shackled with chains that blocked their powers. Once the mutants were rescued byMirage and theX-Corps, Cerebra was boosted byKhora of the Burning Heart and she reactivated the powers of all shackled mutants.[8] They then worked together to blockSelene's powers, helping the X-Corps to defeat her.[9]
After Selene was defeated, Cerebra took it upon herself to identify the remains of all of her victims.[10]Attributes
Powers
DNA Perception andManipulation: Shakti Haddad is amutant with biometric telepathy; she can read DNA, genetics and biology of others,[3] and can also communicate and give orders to DNA and the X-Gene of other mutants.[8][9] Shakti can also read DNA from the remains instead of from living beings.[4][5] By analyzing the DNA she can reassemble pieces of the DNA into full,[3] reconstruct the physical appearance of its owner, tell if it belongs to a mutant or not, if it is natural or engineered, assess some of the owner parameters, like potential longevity[5] or current age.[7]
- DNA Recording: Shakti can memorize and store genetic templates of others in her mind, but can hold only few.[3] This played a crucial role in the resurrection ofCrave,Theia, andAmass, as Cerebra was able to record their full DNA and provide this information to theFive to perform the resurrection even without physical samples of DNA.[4]
- Power Sensing: Shakti can tune in to specific X-Gene,[3] and can tell from a DNA sample what powers its owner has.[5][7] Shakti can sense and identify other mutants in a large area around her solely by their power, without a need to see them.[11]
- Power Restoration: Shakti can forcefully reactivate other mutant's powers.[8]
- Power Negation: Haddad can block powers of other mutants.[12][9]
