Rebecca Barnes was the daughter ofJames Barnes Sr. andWinnifred Barnes and the younger sister ofBucky Barnes.[5] She grew up with her family in Shelbyville,Indiana.[5] After the death of her parents, Rebecca and James were separated.[5] Rebecca was sent off to boarding school while James stayed atCamp Lehigh in the care of their father's friend,Major Samson.[5] In the intervening decades after her brother was presumed KIA inWorld War II, Rebecca married an unnamed man and started a family.
She would eventually reunite with her brother in the modern day, where he would confess much of his sins as the Winter Soldier to her, though he lamented that she would not be able to remember anything, having developed Alzheimer's and living in a dedicated facility.[3]Attributes
