The original inhabitants of North America was various tribes of Native Americans. They lived throughout the continent living off the land in a tribal society for thousands of years.^{[citation needed]}

43th Century BC[]

More than six thousands years ago, the land that would become known as North America was the seat of a civilization and cities brought up byCelts,Phoenicians, and the ships ofTarakis, who crossed theOceans. City states traded and warred with each others, following routes of commerce across the Ocean. First and foremost wasNew Iberia, ruled byKing Ogam, greatest wizard of this age. Another was the kingdom ofTubal Carrin, formerly Ogam's student, who lusted after Ogam's daughterPrincess Pey.^[3]

11th Century AD[]

Around 1000 AD, Vikings landed on parts of North America and declared it forOdin and theAsgardian gods whom they worshipped. This conflict led to a brief skirmish between the Asgardians and theAnasazi. The Asgardians backed off from invading North America, butManabozho and Odin, ruler of the Asgardian gods, formed an alliance to defend Earth from danger posed by the alienCelestials. Manabozho and Odin then met with the heads of the other races of gods who were or had been worshipped on Earth to discuss the Celestial's possible threat to Earth.^[4]

During the age of vikings;Varnae traveled to the new world and attacked a norse colony in North America turning the settlers intoVampires. A young girl escaped and prayed to the gods for help andThor answered the call and battled the hordes of Vampires and eventually facing the first vampire himself. He was able to drive off Varnae and destroyed the vampire settlers by directing sunlight at them leaving only the young girl alive.^[5]

TheSpirit of Vengeance protected the shores of earlyAmerica, leading warriors to the fight againstVikings marauders.^[6]

A Native American;Famine became a member ofApocalypse'sFour Horsemen. The group encountered theAsgardian god of thunder,Thor during their spree of killing people. Thor engaged them in battle and killed them single-handedly.^[7]

15th Century[]

1492[]

In 1492,Columbus leftSpain in the Santa Maria. A member of the crew of thePinta namedGideon succumbed to scurvy. However, Gideon recovered as they reached theNew World, his nature as amutant External allowing himself to be resurrected.^[8]That year, Columbus visited an island whom he namedBoca Caliente due to its sweltering heat and humidity, making it a Spanish colony (until 1898).^[9]

1498[]

Columbus landed on Boriquén on theCaribbean Sea the island sometime around the year 1498. Spanish forces committed genocide on the Boriquén people. Horrified,Diablo fought back against the invaders slaying all those who came onto the island. With the Spanish forced from the shores, Diablo appointed himself defender of the land, but resumed his travels across the world.^[10]

The arrival of Columbus in 1492 is a disaster for the original inhabitants of the American continent. The chief agent of their downfall is disease.^{[citation needed]}

16th Century[]

The Spanish empire continued to conquer the new world. A group of Conquistadors found theFountain of Youth in the Florida swamps. The initial group that drank the water were transformed into the ogre-like immortal beings called theFathers. The remaining members of the party bathed in the water instead, and gained immortality in return for their emotions, but were not physically changed like the Fathers. They founded the village ofLa Hacienda at the site of the Fountain, and when they discovered they could not leave their village without losing their immortality, they stayed in La Hacienda and cut themselves off from the rest of the world.^[11]

In 1585, theEnglish colony ofRoanoke was settled. In 1591, a vampire girl from a Viking colony arrived in the settlement. She turned all the 121 settlers into vampires leaving only one message carved into a tree "Croatoan".^[5]

17th Century[]

In 1626, the English colony ofSalem was founded by a group ofPuritans. It is one of the oldest cities in the United States. It is known primarily as the site of theSalem Witch Trials .The trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused ofwitchcraft between 1692 to 1693. These trials resulted in the executions many of the residents.^[12]

In 1623, TheDutch settled the colony ofNew Amsterdam. The province would remain a Dutch possession until 1674 when it came under control of the English and renamedNew York.^{[citation needed]}

In 1680, thePilgrims left England and travelled aboard theMayflower, fromPlymouth to theNew World in the 17th century and became the second successful English settlement in North America .At least one member of theClan Akkaba was on board the ship.^[13]

The United States of America dissolved in 1969,^[14] and was reformed as the North American Union, a sovereign state consisting of the territories ofCanada, theUnited States of America, andMexico. The super-nation was originally run as a corporation byHoward Stark andObadiah Stane ofStane/Stark Industries, with its regions run as subsidiaries. However, following the deaths of both Stane and Stark, the Union was redistributed to bothHenri Dugarry, Captain Britain of the European Coalition, and theHulk, leader of theChildren of Eternal Light.
