History
TheNightwind was a colossal starcruiser, the size of a planetoid, that dwarfed a massive space station. It was known as the single most powerful ship in theCharter Federation. At the time when it was summoned toEarth, the Nightwind was commanded byCaptain Cymell, a femaleNanda.
The Nightwind carried within itself a powerful symbiotic ship, large enough to dwarfNew York City, that could be independently deployed. To do so, the starcruiser's outer hull slid away, then the inner cylinder would mechanically change its shape, transforming intoGigantauron, a planet-destroyer.[1]
The starcruiser possessed a tractor beam powerful enough to levitate and bring the Gigantauron back to the ship from Earth. On each side of the vessel's outer hull were dozens ofmeson-cannons and it had defenses within the hollow center of the ship.[2]
