—Blue Marvel[source]It's a spacebeyond theSuperflow that connects universes, where positive and negative mattercoexist. Theoretically, beyondthis--if wecan go beyond--there's nothing but the absoluteOutside--
TheExo-Space, also known as theNeutral Zone, is the space found between realities,[5] beyond theSuperflow,[2][6] where negative and positive matter coexist.[7] It is home to eldritch forms and predatory concepts,[2] and powerful matter calledNeutronium.[8] The Neutral Zone is a "buffer zone" that leads to theOutside, beyond theMultiverse.[5][2][6][1]
History

Neutronium
The Brashears[]
It was discovered by theBlue Marvel, who kept exploring it after his sonKevin was left stranded there when the Brashears foiled Dr.Evald Skorpion's villianous plan to access the Neutral Zone and weaponize itsNeutronium.[8] He initially believed the Exo-Space to be merely an alternate dimension.[9]
Adam's other son,Max Brashear also worked in finding a way to rescue Kevin. However, he failed to stabilize the portal and it had to be shut down.[8]
Some time later, Max peacefully reached out to his father to work together to free Kevin.[9] They managed to devise a solution, and used it to temporarily bring Kevin, now empowered by the Neutral Zone, to banish the powerfulBeyond Corporation'sagent. Kevin's return lasted a few seconds, but Blue Marvel set out to try to reach out again.[10]
The Ultimates[]
The arrival of a mysterious being into the universe caused a breach in the fabric of reality, creating a tear the size of a planet which could have potentially torn the galaxy apart ifAmerica Chavez had not closed it. This impressed the Blue Marvel and he welcomed her into theUltimates.[5]

The border to the Outside
The Ultimates later ventured into Neutral Zone, after passing through deep space and theSuperflow, in order to reach theOutside.[2] There, they metConner Sims,[11] the Anti-Man, who was previously thought to be dead.[12] The Blue Marvel attacked his former friend but his son Kevin returned and convinced him to take Conner with them.[11]
TheSharra-IV, aShi'ar monitoring station orbiting around and observing theGreat K'ythri, a wormhole connected to the Exo-Space, was attacked byThanos when he used the Exo-Space as his entry point back to existence.[13]
Conner Sims attempted to commit suicide by going to the Outside and passed the Neutral Zone along the way, but was saved by the LifebringerGalactus.[6]
The Defenders[]
Eternity gathered theDefenders to investigate athreat from outside theMultiverse and orchestrated a series of events that would lead his selected crew into the Neutral Zone. In this "liminal space," he opened the way to the Outside.[1]Residents
