History
Tony Stark had been tinkering away on an Ultronbuster Armor before the situation to use it presented itself. It occurred when the villain, in hisUltron Pym form, kidnapped Stark's girlfriend, theWasp. Having deduced that Ultron was behind the kidnapping, Tony suited up in the Ultronbuster before going on the search ofJocasta, whom Stark believed was in danger but had already been captured as well. Iron Man and his allies eventually located Ultron Pym's lair at the abeyantAvengers Mansion and managed to free both captives from a device intended to fuse them molecularly. However, Stark was caught by the blast of the machine right after rescuing the Wasp, causing Tony's human body to become mangled and fused to the Ultronbuster.[1]

Tony becoming fused to the armor
Iron Man managed to keep fighting despite the fusion, constantly reprogramming the armor on the fly to work with his internal organs and postpone fatal injuries. Once Tony's team atStark Unlimited discovered a way to undo Ultron's process, Jocasta helped Iron Man retreat.[2] Using the remotely-controlledNano Iron Man Armor on his own body, Tony ionically tagged all mechanical parts to be expelled from his body. Despite completing only ninety-seven percent of the preparations, Tony decided to star the separation process due to the threat posed by a miniature Ultron drone who had infilitrated Tony's systems. The split was successful, and the pieces of the armor were phased out of Tony's body, returning it to normal.[3]
