Notes
Continuity Notes[]
- Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin retellsIron Man's first clash against his arch-nemesis theMandarin, who first appeared inTales of Suspense #50. The limited series adapts the original tales fromTales of Suspense #50-55, byStan Lee andDon Heck.
- Stark Industries is mistakenly referred to asStark Enterprises by the external text. This is incorrect, sinceStark Enterprises was a completely different company started byTony Stark inIron Man #217 some time afterObadiah Stane had taken over Stark International inIron Man #173.
- Tony Stark states that he had foundedS.H.I.E.L.D. six months before the events of this issue, and plans about replacing Director Rick Stoner withC.I.A. agentNick Fury. This statement, however, has become incorrect due toEarth-616'sSliding Timescale; in the current timeline, S.H.I.E.L.D. was founded by Tony's fatherHoward Stark[1][2] in the early 1960s, withRick Stoner as its first public Executive Director.[3] Stoner was apparently killed byHydra mercenaries[4][3] and replaced in 1965[5] by Nick Fury.
