History
Origins[]

Faiza playing cricket
Dr. Faiza Hussain was working triage in London during theSkrull Invasion, doing her best to keep people alive in the middle of the conflict. Her base of operations was attacked by aSkrull war machine, but Dane Whitman, theBlack Knight, intervened, killing the war machine's pilot, and sending the machine itself crashing to the ground. Dane scouted the area to see if there were any survivors, and then brought Faiza along to check them out. While they were checking on survivors near the downed war machine, one of its devices came to life, blasting Faiza and knocking her out cold.[4]
While Faiza was unconscious, she dreamed of King Arthur's fabled sword,Excalibur. When Dane returned to check on her, having gotten the survivors to safety, Faiza came around. Panicked at the figure looming over her, she accidentally triggered her powers for the first time, turning Dane into a living cross-section. Faiza quickly pulled herself together, and figured out how to revoke her power, returning Dane to normal.[2]

Faiza drawingExcalibur from the stone
Moments later, Faiza and Dane were attacked by further Skrull troops. Dane killed a number of Skrulls, but Faiza ended the battle using another new power, the ability to immobilize other people, to paralyze the rest.[2] AfterCaptain Britain resurrected and defeated the Skrulls using Excalibur, Faiza took the sword from the stone where Captain Britain left it after his victory and became the new master of Excalibur,[5] and joinedMI13 as Black Knight's steward.[6]
Agent of MI-13[]
As a member of MI13, Faiza was deployed with her team to combat various supernatural threats includingPlokta.[7] As his steward, Faiza accompanied the Black Knight toWakanda to retrieve the originalEbony Blade.[8] WhenDracula attacked the United Kingdom, he personally attacked Faiza's family, injuring her mother while kidnapping her father and sending forces to attack the members of MI13.[9] Taking on the codenameExcalibur, Faiza accompanied her team to fight Dracula.[10] Excalibur was able to confront Dracula and slew him with her sword.[11]
Further Adventures[]
Along with her teammates, Excalibur was invited toWashington, D.C. byCaptain Steve Rogers to represent theUnited Kingdom as they ushered in the newHeroic Age.[12] Excalibur was also part of the honor guard the a delegation fromAqiria visited theUnited Kingdom.[13]
Excalibur was invited byQueen Elizabeth II to knight individuals atBuckingham Palace. Unfortunately,Gambit posed asSir Antony Ellis to steal the Excalibur sword from her to give toMr. Cich. Fortunately,Pete Wisdom was waiting for Gambit outside of the Palace, and quickly apprehended him.[14]
When Gambit was forced into a trap at Pace Federal Penitentiary by Mr. Cich, Excalibur, MI13, andAvengers Unity Division arrived to save him. When Gambit was shot in the head during the battle, Excalibur was able to heal him and save his life.[15]

Powers
After being hit with an alien weapon during theSkrull invasion of Earth, Dr. Faiza Hussain awoke with strange new powers,[21] including:

Faiza creating a living cross-section ofBlack Knight
- Psionic Bio-Deconstruction: Faiza has the power to disassemble anything, including people, into their component parts, manipulate them on an atomic level, and reassemble them. While taking people apart, she can take their limbs, organs, and bones apart, then reassemble them, putting them back together, and then restore it to its original condition. This is possible due to the fact that she innately knows the composition of anything she affects with her powers. Faiza is also capable of focusing on certain areas in particular. Those affected by Faiza's power remain conscious and able to talk throughout. She can affect multiple targets simultaneously, but the more objects she attempts to manipulate, the greater the concentration is required from her. When using her powers on living beings, the target is rendered immobile until she allows them to move.[2] Faiza finds it easier to affect shape-shifters, such as Skrulls, but more difficult to affect magic-based beings.[2][22][16][3]
Abilities
- Medical Training: Faiza was a skilled medical doctor.[4][3]
- Fandom: Faiza was a massive fan of the British superhero community, and knew a considerable amount regarding it.[4] She was also a fan of other non-British superheroes.[8][12]
- Cricket: Faiza enjoys cricket and calls it her "other fandom".[23]
- Magic Detection: Armed with Excalibur, Faiza can sense magic near herself.[24]
- Martial Arts: As an agent of MI13, Excalibur has received hand-to-hand combat training including kung fu.[6][3]
- Swordsmen: Faiza came to be skilled with the use of a sword.
