History
Demons are extra-dimensional beings that exist in various realms ofHell.[citation needed] There are numbers of demons, many of whom have come into conflict withgods andangels over the millennia or are, in fact, gods and angels.[citation needed] As mystical beings, demons possess varying degrees of power. They feed upon the souls of evil or sinful people.[citation needed] They are skilled in black magic,[citation needed] all with a need to cause suffering in the mortal world.[citation needed]

Some demons found a way to cross over intoEarth-6799 in order to cause trouble. At some point, theGreen Goblin made friends with several demons. They came to aid him during his battle withSpider-Man, only for Spider-Man to defeat the Goblin effortlessly, after which the demons decided that the Goblin was not fit to become one of them.[1]

Variable, depending on specific type of demon. Some demons may have particular weaknesses specific to only them.
Ankhs: Some demons can be trapped within a room or building by etching the symbol of the ankh outside of the door.[3]
Cold: The fire demon Surtur is vulnerable to intense cold.[4][5][6]
Eldritch Magic: The demon Chthon and those augmented by his power are vulnerable to eldritch magic, including that of theDarkhold.[7][8]
Fire: In shadow form, the demon known as the Bogeyman was vulnerable to fire.[9]
Goodness: As a being of hatred, the demon Null, the Living Darkness, is weakened by goodness and can be overwhelmed if exposed to a massive amount of goodness.[10]
Holy Water: Some demons can be harmed by holy water or weapons coated in holy water. The half-lilin Blackout, although resistant to normal bullets, could be harmed by bullets dipped in holy water which were able to penetrate his skin.[11]
Iron: The demon Adversary is vulnerable to iron and iron alloys, including steel,Adamantium, andVibranium.[12][13]
Mark of Zhou'Syn: The demon Spite cannot directly harm anyone with the Mark of Zhou'Syn.[14]
Mysterium: Mysterium, a metal with powerful antimagical properties, can instantaneously banish demons such as Dormammu upon contact.[15][16]
Negativity: While possessingIprah, the demon Deuteronomy showed a weakness towards negativity in people and psychological arguments.[17]
Ultraviolet Radiation: The half-lilin Blackout is extremely sensitive to light, unlike other lilin[18]. Exposure to direct sunlight caused his skin to burn rapidly.[19]
Sonic Vibrations: The demon Ludi is weak against loud sounds and vibrations.[20]
