Characters with (or items that grants their wielders) the power to absorb the life-force (vitality) of living beings into one body

In most cases the absorbed life-force is used to restore wielder's youth, health and heal wounds, but is some cases it is also used to increase wielder's physical attributes like strength and durability, or as a energy source for other powers. Normally wielder needs a direct physical contact with victim. Depending on the speed of absorption, the effect on the victims ranges from quickly aging, to decaying and, in extreme cases, to instant disintegration of organic matter to dust.
