Synopsis for "Howard the Duck's Christmas"

Howard is in San Francisco on Christmas Eve where he is on the Golden Gate Bridge, depressed and contemplating suicide. He is stopped by an Angel named Andy. Andy decides to try to boost Howard's confidence and morale; he shows Howard how the lives of its friends would have unfolded if Howard hadnever came to Earth-616. He shows Howard Earth-83234. They visit his friends Paul Same, Arthur Winslow and Beverly Switzler, but to Howard (and especially Andy's) horror, all his friends would have been better off without him. Believing that he had failed in his mission and his life was worse than Howard's without his wings, Andy considers suicide himself, but Howard tries to stop him, Howard realizing that, after their adventure, Andy is even nuttier than he is, and he invites Andy to go for a drink with him rather than kill himself. This act, ironically, wins Andy his wings because, after all, itwas a successful mission.[54]
