       memmove — copy bytes in memory with overlapping areas

SYNOPSIS        top

       #include <string.h>       void *memmove(void *s1, const void *s2, size_tn);

DESCRIPTION        top

       The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with       the ISO C standard. Any conflict between the requirements       described here and the ISO C standard is unintentional. This       volume of POSIX.1‐2017 defers to the ISO C standard.       Thememmove() function shall copyn bytes from the object pointed       to bys2 into the object pointed to bys1.  Copying takes place as       if then bytes from the object pointed to bys2 are first copied       into a temporary array ofn bytes that does not overlap the       objects pointed to bys1 ands2, and then then bytes from the       temporary array are copied into the object pointed to bys1.

RETURN VALUE        top

       Thememmove() function shall returns1; no return value is       reserved to indicate an error.
