DESCRIPTION        top

getw() reads a word (that is, anint) fromstream.  It's provided       for compatibility with SVr4.  We recommend you usefread(3)       instead.putw() writes the wordw (that is, anint) tostream.  It is       provided for compatibility with SVr4, but we recommend you usefwrite(3) instead.

RETURN VALUE        top

       Normally,getw() returns the word read, andputw() returns 0.  On       error, they returnEOF.
